The Jews under the law of Moses during the ministry of Christ, were ignorant of God's righteousness, that is, his laws; wherein, they established their own brand of religion and so it is now. Nearly sixty years ago when televison was first born and not many had one, a great many radio preachers told the people to put their hand on the radio and salvation would come. But now, the robed ecclesiastical preachers with their multi-media televison presentations is all pomp and circumstance including rock bands and whatever is appealing to teenagers, are getting people on an emotional high so as to reap millions of dollars in contributions to appease their lust for money.
Col 2:18 "Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,"
Col 2:21-23 "(Touch not; taste not; handle not);..... Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?....Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh."
Self prescribed will worship (worshipping after man's will and not God's) has many twists and is snowballing. After the commandments and doctrines of men, such neglect the body and material things, of will worship and a show of wisdom in the splendor of multi-media presentations, worshipping of angels and not to mention all of the modern creations fostered by liberal concepts.
There are hundreds of e-mails floating around on the internet soliciting only to love God and do good to your fellowman as an alternative to doing God's commandments.
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Another innovative popular doctrine that is being peddled is to cast out Jesus Christ and his church and serve God only. Why? Rather than to admit to the skeletons in their closets of which the testament of Christ condemns, they despise and ignore the commandments of their Savior. Jesus said, no man comes to the Father but by me. The truth is that men and women today are too lazy to study God's word for direction and his requirements to gain entry into the kingdom of his dear Son.
Col 1:12-13 "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:.....Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:"
Attacking the multitude of scriptures in the law of Christ is not as popular as it used to be. Just simply ignore them and take refuge and comfort in the safety of the great numbers whereby many are deceived.
1 John 5:2-3 "By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments......For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous."
There is no love of God when one refuses to keep his commandments. Those under the law of Moses could not keep his commandments and because of their rebellion God gave them statutes that they could not keep and live by, Ezekiel 20:22-26. But now, under the law of Christ, God's commandments are not grievious. The apostle Paul said:
1 Cor 10:13 "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
On the other hand, more than not accept Jesus as their Savior, but refuse to keep his commandments.
Mat 15:8-9 "This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me......But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."
"Oh how I love Jesus", is on the lips of thousands, but their heart is far from him. Why? Because they teach for doctrine the commandments of men.
Luke 6:46 "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"
John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
Mark 16:15-16 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature......He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."
What are the commandments of Christ? We just read one of the greatest. Depend on your preacher and he may lead you straight into an everlasting hell fire and brimstone. It is incumbent that we solely trust no one, but read and understand for ourselves. God promises to give wisdom if we will ask and it will aid in our understanding of the scriptures, James 1:5.
John 7:49 "But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed."
This is what the wicked Pharisees of the Jews said of their own people.
Hosea 4:6-7 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children......As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame."
Hosea, was one of the minor prophets centuries before Christ. God destroyed his people for a lack of knowledge. Their glory he changed into shame. What about you? God is no respecter of persons, Acts 10:34.
There are thousands of blind leaders leading the blind today and Jesus said that both will fall into the ditch, Matthew 15:13-14. The wrath of Jesus Christ was upon that generation and so it will be with this generation if we refuse to do his commandments!
Mat 23:23-24 "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone......Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel"
Matt 23:27-28 "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness......Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity"
Mat 23:33 "Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
This is straight talk from the Lord Jesus Christ. If he has offended you and become your enemy because he told you the truth, that is your problem. The number one problem in this nation is this:
Rom 3:18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes."
John 4:23-24 "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him......God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."
No man or woman can worship God in truth if they are illiterate of his commands. Jesus said, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth", John 17:17. The truth is the word of God through the testament of Christ. Jesus said again, "He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day, John 12:48." To sum it up, the truth is the word of God through Christ and his words if rejected will judge us in the last day. Sticking your head in the sand will not float in the day of judgment for rejecting the words of Christ.
Satan knows how to deceive men and women into believing that their way is better than Gods'. Doing what is right in ones own eyes was condemned back under the law of Moses, but even more so under the law of Christ.
Prov 12:15 "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise."
There is safety in numbers and that is the basis for so many today who love and manufacture their own brand of religion.The love of God and the Lord Jesus Christ is extended to you, but without any reservations you must obey them whatever the cost.
