The Word of God Can be Corrupted:

Gen 2:17  "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

Gen 3:2-4  "And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:.....But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.".....And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:"

This was the beginning of perversion of the word of God. God said, you eat of this tree and you will surely die; the serpent said, you shall "not" surely die. It is no coincidence that "not" is still the most prominent word used today to pervert God's law. This is Satan's benchmark of perversion.

Ezek.5:5-6 "Thus saith the Lord GOD; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are round about her......And she hath changed my judgments into wickedness more than the nations, and my statutes more than the countries that are round about her: for they have refused my judgments and my statutes, they have not walked in them."

Rev 2:14  "But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication."

We could go on and on as to how the Jews perverted the word of God to the time of Christ, but this is sufficient.

Gal 1:6-9  "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:.....Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ......But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed......As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."

There are those who claim that God has spoken to them in various ways even by angels; under no circumstance does God speak to anyone today other than through the new testament of Christ. But let us suppose that an angel did speak to some, the apostle Paul said, let that angel be accursed. Why? Because there is no other gospel except the one given by Christ.

Heb 1:1-2  "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,.....Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;"

1 Tim 4:1-5  "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;.....Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;.....Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth......For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:.....For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer."

What are the doctrines of devils? The only way that the devils can preach is through their agents man.

2 Cor 11:13-15  "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ......And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light......Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."

It is very simple, Satan and his ministers disguise themselves within false teachers, portraying themselves as the ministers of righteousness.

Mat 15:9  "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."

Col 2:22  "Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?"

These doctrines and commandments of men take on the form of church doctrine, articles of faith, creed books, manuals, or whatever they are called. Whoever, elects to uphold these diverse doctrines above the doctrine of Christ are worshipping him in vain. This why Paul said, examine yourselves whether you be in the faith.

2 Cor 13:5  "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?"

Eph 4:14  "That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;"

1 Tim 1:3  "As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,"

Heb 13:9  "Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein."

There are those who will believe any kind of doctrine that comes along. The false teachers who advance divers and strange doctrines deceive the hearts of the simple. But, what else is new?

Rev 2:15  "So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate."
